Here is one of my best friends, Abby, and her sweet little family! We grew up two houses apart and her mom babysat me before we even entered elementary school. I don't know exactly how old we were when we met, but we've known each other for about 25 years! That makes us sound really old, but I promise we aren't :)

We got married two months apart from each other and then a couple of years later we had babies about 3.5 months apart. We had an awesome summer together watching our sweet babes grow! We miss you guys so much right now! Noah is definitely looking forward to seeing his girlfriend again at Christmas :) Love you guys!

Back in Business!

So much has happened since my last update! We welcomed our first child in January, my husband left for his deployment, I traveled with our son to the mainland for several months to be with family, my husband safely returned from his deployment and now we're at Ft. Sill for a few weeks while my husband is in school. I'm counting down the days until we're back on island and in our home as a family of 3!

While I have been gone I have missed my clients so much! I'm ready to get back in the swing of things and I'm currently booking sessions starting in October. If you're thinking of doing Christmas cards let me know! Our Christmas card deadline will be here before you know it. Are you expecting a little one or know someone who is? Let me know because I have some maternity ideas that I'd love to try!

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and I can't wait to get back behind the camera again!

How cute is this little guy?! Not only he is incredibly adorable, but he was absolutely perfect during the entire session! His daddy just got home from deployment so it was neat to capture the bond that the two of them already share. The first image is my absolute favorite from the day! I just love it!!

It seems like it's been awhile since I have photographed little ones and this bunch definitely made it easy on me! They were so quiet and as you can see absolutely adorable. They loved hanging out in Dad's lap and were so cute taking turns wearing Dad's cover and dogtags!

I had so much fun with this family! We literally laughed our way through the entire session. Dad was a pro at getting the kids to laugh and smile! They all shared a wonderful bond and that's what I like most about photographing families. You get to see inside their lives and catch a glimpse of what their day to day life is like. I have no doubt that their home is filled with constant laughter!

I had such a great time working with Alyssa! It had been awhile since I've photographed a senior so it was nice to experience all the outfits changes and different locations once again. She was incredibly sweet and so easy to work with. She was pretty shy at first, but put a girl in torn up jeans and you'll begin to see her real personality! :)

As you can imagine, one of my favorite things to photograph are Homecomings! They are so full of emotion and they bring a tear to my eye every single time. Last week was no exception as this sweet little girl got to meet her Daddy for the very first time. It was such a special moment for their family and I'm incredibly thankful I was able to be there and capture it for them.

Rachel is one of my very best friends from college. We both went to Hawkeye and I think it's pretty safe to say we were each other's rock as we double majored in both portrait and photojournalism. It was extremely hard work and I was so thankful to have had her with me every step of the way!

Anyway, Rachel and her family were here visiting on vacation. They rented an amazing house on the North Shore! One of their last nights here we went out to Sharks Cove. It was a great location and as you know, I love going to new spots!

It was great to see everyone again! Remember you're welcome to come back and stay with us anytime! :)

Can you believe that I've never photographed anyone at Lanaki Beach before? I was so excited when Kyle said they'd like to be photographed there. It was a perfect day and I loved the spot we found. They were such a great family to work with and I can't wait for them to see the rest of their images!

Eric & Angie have four beautiful daughters! Towards the end of their session we let the girls just do their own thing while I followed them around. Almost all at once they headed straight for the water! They had fun and I was able to capture some really neat shots of them playing!

I had so much fun photographing this family. It was my first time photographing twins and they were perfect! The girls were so sweet and absolutely adorable. They were full of belly laughs and I loved watching them interact with each other. I definitely could have photographed them all day!

Who would ever think I'd photograph another Iowa family all the way over here? We truly live in a small world and the military constantly reminds me of this as we move around and meet new people. Jeff & Tracy wanted to head up to Turtle Bay which was great, because I hadn't been there before. Their little one was an absolute doll and such a trooper during the entire shoot!

I love, love, love to photograph Homecomings! Spouses have waited months and months to see their loved one again for the very first time and their excitment is undeniable. Rebecca and their little one waited for what I'm sure felt like an eternity to spot Josh in the crowd. I could tell by the look on her face the instant she found him. Their reunion was absolutely priceless and I'm so glad I could be there to capture it all for them!

Thankfully Baby J decided to come out and meet the world while his daddy was home on R&R. What perfect timing! Daddy brought home the stuffed turtle who has traveled everywhere with him during the first part of his deployment so of course we had to squeeze him in during a few of the photos. It was great to see you guys again!

Gene, I hope the rest of your deployment goes by quickly and safely! My thoughts are with both of you!

Once I learned about Operation: Love Reunited I knew it was something that I had to be apart of. I find it rewarding to be able to provide meaningful images for our service members and their families. Having to say goodbye or being reunited for the first time after months and months of separation are moments that we'll never forget. Being a military wife, I also know how memorable that last kiss or that very first hug are. I know how important it is to have those moments captured forever and I'm thankful that I can be there to do that for others.

Johnathan & Courtney were the first clients that I worked with through the organization. Their reunion left me speechless as I drove home that night. I couldn't begin to fathom the joy and excitement that they were feeling. I was literally beaming ear to ear for them!

Daddy came home to meet his beautiful 4 month old baby girl! It was incredibly precious to watch him hold and snuggle with her for the very first time. I'm guessing it's a pretty safe bet to say that she's already a complete Daddy's girl!

My husband and I went back home for his cousin's wedding. While we were there I was able to photograph another cousin and do his senior pictures. Layton is lucky enough to be one of those people who doesn't take a bad photograph~ ever! I wasn't sure how much he'd "love" having his picture taken, but we had a great time.

Despite a few rain showers, the couple truly had a perfect wedding! I've always heard it's good luck to have some rain on your wedding day. Luckily, the rain let up just in time for the ceremony and everyone stayed dry. Following the ceremony they had a great reception with lots of dancing. This is one group of family and friends that knows how to have a great time!

I'm new to the blogging world, but I figured it was about time that I give it a try. So here goes...

I'm a photographer and I've been given the opportunity of a lifetime. We truly live in one the most beautiful places that I have ever been to. I'm thrilled for what lies ahead of us and can't wait to experience this journey. We just arrived on the island of Oahu and we're still working on getting settled in.
